V-Key and Regula Deliver High-Assurance Identity Verification for Mobile

Singapore, May 2026 — V-Key, the global leader in mobile-first digital identity and app security, announced a strategic regional partnership with Regula, a global developer of identity verification solutions, to integrate Regula Document Reader SDK and Regula Face SDK into V-Key ID, V-Key’s next-generation Universal Identity Platform.

Through this partnership, V-Key customers — spanning banks, telcos, government agencies, and digital businesses across Asia — will be able to onboard verified identities directly within their mobile apps, combining Regula’s comprehensive document and biometric verification technologies with V-Key’s patented Virtual Secure Element (V-OS) and privacy-preserving biometric authentication. The result is a single, end-to-end journey: from “Is this a real person with a genuine ID?” at onboarding, to “Is this the same person every time they log in or transact?” across the entire customer lifetime.

V-Key’s V-OS technology is deployed in over 600 million mobile installations worldwide, securing some of Asia’s most regulated mobile applications. Regula’s solutions — backed by the world’s largest identity document template database, covering over 16,000 templates from 254 countries and territories and built on more than 30 years of forensic research — are trusted by 2,000+ enterprises and 80+ border control authorities globally.

The integration brings together two complementary halves of the mobile identity stack. At onboarding, Regula enables document authentication from all over the world, iBeta-certified liveness detection and face matching, and 99.8% proven detection accuracy from its automated, cross-platform OCR technology. From that moment forward, V-Key’s Virtual Secure Element, multi-factor authentication, FIDO2 server, and mobile app protection ensure the verified identity persists securely on the device, protected by adaptive threat response and true zero-trust validation for every login and transaction.

The combined offering is built for the most regulated sectors. V-Key is certified to Common Criteria, FIPS 140-2, IMDA, and SOC 2 standards, and together with Regula’s document and biometric forensic expertise, the partnership delivers global identity verification depth through Asia-Pacific’s leading mobile-security channel.

“Our partnership with Regula reflects strong customer demand for identity verification as organisations look to address rampant identity theft and fraud within their digital ecosystems,” said Raymond Lee, Chief Operating Officer at V-Key. “As businesses ramp up customer acquisition and adoption, ensuring verified identities is key to driving innovation and delivering more digital services through the mobile app. Many digital businesses rely on trusted identities to build their business, and in many Asian countries this challenge is growing. Our customers are looking to V-Key to help address it with an integrated and secure platform, and that is exactly what V-Key ID delivers, now strengthened by Regula’s forensic expertise.”

Built for the Pressures Asian Businesses Face Today

The partnership directly addresses four converging pressures on V-Key and Regula’s joint customers. The fraud landscape has shifted to mobile, with AI-generated deepfakes, synthetic identities, and document forgeries rising fastest in mobile onboarding flows — exactly where V-Key operates and what Regula’s advanced technology was built to detect. Regulators are tightening in parallel: APRA in Australia, BSSN in Indonesia, MAS in Singapore, and equivalent bodies across the region are demanding stronger eKYC, liveness, and continuous authentication, and a bundled certified solution removes that compliance burden from customers’ IT teams.

At the same time, customer acquisition costs are rising while conversion rates still need improvement. Embedding forensic-grade identity verification directly into mobile journeys helps reduce onboarding friction and user drop-off — exactly the outcomes V-Key’s customers are looking to achieve. And finally, no single vendor wins mobile identity alone. The stack runs from document to biometric to device to app to session, and the market is moving decisively toward integrated platforms rather than stitched-together point solutions.

V-Key ID is a portable Digital Identity platform that allows businesses to onboard verified identities with privacy-preserving biometrics, then use that same identity for both authentication and authorisation workflows inside any mobile app. With Regula embedded, every onboarding begins with verified, border-grade certainty that the document is genuine and the person presenting it is real and live.

“Mobile platforms are now at the center of identity interactions, which makes them both a key growth channel and a primary target for fraud. As threats become more sophisticated — including deepfakes and synthetic identities — businesses need stronger, integrated approaches to verification and authentication. Partnerships like this allow us to combine complementary technologies and help organizations address security and compliance challenges more effectively, while delivering a seamless user experience. We’re pleased to collaborate with V-Key to bring this level of assurance to mobile identity journeys,” said Ihar Kliashchou, Chief Technology Officer at Regula.

The integrated solution is available immediately to V-Key customers across the region.
